A strange murder has occurred in the Hotel Lisbon, a man committed suicide with 14 stabs to the back while at the same time he peacefully drank his coffee.
This case with contradictory facts was too complex for Policeman Garcia to solve, so he decided to hire the only detective duo in town capable of solving it: the mythical Detective Case and the unmistakable Clown Bot.
Together, they will solve a network of love relations so complex and so intricate, that it would take at least 14 clairvoyants, 5 apocalyptic sect prophets who can predict the end of the world and 3 of those gypsies that can read the palm of your hand just to guess the final outcome.

I cannot control the Linux version at all (running Ubuntu): The game apparently detects my internal laptop touchpad as a joypad ("Joystick: Synaptics TM3383-002, bustype = 29, vendor = 0x06cb, product = 0x0000, version = 0") and consequently fails to read any meaningful data from it (since it is not in fact a gamepad) - and sadly also does not react to keyboard or mouse. Is there any possibility to just force keyboard / mouse control? I already mounted the appimage and searched for options inside the binary, but none of them seemed to relate to input at a first glance. Thanks for any pointers or a fix!
Absolutely loved this game! The soundtrack especially was fantastic. Unfortunately, I'm having a problem with side quest 2 -- I've started the quest and gotten the info from the bathroom graffiti, but whenever I try to talk to the shoe-shiner, I just get the shoe-shining animation with no dialogue. :( I would still definitely recommend this game to anybody interested, it's a great time!
Any update on there being a chance its sequel might come out on GOG or otherwise have a DRM-free release soon (or for that matter, this game itself coming out on GOG)? I've been wanting to get these games for a while, that'd give me an even better reason to snag both of them.
Hello. Yes, we will add the sequel to itch, it was originally intended to have been already out but we've been considerably delayed by other factors. Our plan is also to bring other titles to itch. =)
I can't seem to finish side quest number 1. I have all three items but I can't seem to interview Garcia.
I've downloaded the mac version on the game but, i'm unable to launch it, it says the file is corrupted. Can this be fixed? the game seems awesome
Whenever I launch the game (windows 11), I get past the title screen and am unable to do anything and it show button prompts instead of keyboard prompts. Game looks great so I hope you have a solution.
Having a strange error and am unable to launch a new game. For some reason in the main menu my X and O button are flipped so while it says O to cancel and X to continue I have to do the opposite. When I go to start a new game it opens a menu to adjust sound settings and pick a language but I am unable to hit X to continue. Nothing works at all and I can't actually get the game to start. I tried using keyboard to hit enter or any other option on the controller but it just remains on the settings menu. Any ideas what might be causing the game to refuse to launch?
Hello, I want to play this game but... the Mac version seems to have a bug in it (Exit code 0x1) that makes me unable to launch it. I've come here instead of sending a report because that's causing itch.io to freeze up. Can this be resolved?
Brillant game, unique artstyle and music, great fun and a pure pleasure to play. I already own this magnificent piece of a game on Steam but will purchase it here again, just because I love it so much. I never played the second part however. Any chance for a DRM-free version here on itch.io?

Hello again! =) I don't think it would be much of a learning tool because it was developed on Game Maker Studio 1.4 and it will be a pain to work with it on the current Game Maker Studio 2, but I will consider this request. Some assets will never be able to be shared even if we decide to share the source because of licensing agreements.

The game wasn't made in Pixel Game Maker, it was developed with Game Maker Studio. :)
I found a bug: When choosing items during an interview, scrolling down through your invetory and then trying to scroll back up again, causes the game to crash.

First of all, I gotta say this game has a whole lot of charm! The whole beginning sequence is fantastic! However I couldn't progress because I received an error. After inspecting the policeman I then clicked on the microphone and this popped up.

I seem to be a bit stuck, I am trying to talk to Mrs. Love for the second time after calling her and she just refuses to say anything? I asked the Bot for help on what to do and he says I have to call her, yet I already did and she's in the office.
Just to check, you went back to the office and tried to talk to Mrs. Love but nothing happens? :/
What OS are you playing on? We're going to try it as well to see if we can replicate it. :)

I'm having trouble installing on linux. When I run Case_Bot_install.sh, I get the below error messages and an empty file ~/Desktop/Case_Bot.desktop. Can you help? It seems the file Case_Bot.desktop is missing. Thank you.

I'd like to download and install this game using Mitch, but apparently Mitch doesn't work well with an APK in a ZIP archive.
Further, when I do extract and install the APK: "Blocked by Play Protect. This app was built for an older version of Android and doesn't include the latest privacy protections." And: "This app was built for an older version of Android and may not work properly." The game does seem to work, though, although it makes the app switcher spazz a bit. Android 12.

Yeah, it’s an 8 year old APK, sorry about that. I’ll look into the possibility of updating it though. Regarding privacy there isn’t anything in our end to store any sort of analytics or any type of data, it’s just an old point & click game. :P Thank you for playing and sorry for the annoying warnings for the old APK.
There is a problem with the registration of the game inside the Windows start menu. There is a "nsis" entry in the "Murder in Hotel Lisbon" folder, but since an nsis.exe does not exist in the supposed place it leads nowhere. I have to start the game from the game folder in the Explorer since there is no link to it in the start menu and I did not choose the option to have a link on the desktop.

you pc download ends in "zip.exe" which i think is making my browser not allow it to be downloaded
